The wound care program at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital features inpatient, outpatient, and limb salvage services. SPECIALIZED WOUND CARE SERVICES
HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY
Wounds need oxygen to heal. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in adjunction to advanced wound care is a well-established treatment for hard-to-heal wounds that are a result of Diabetes, Chronic Refractory Osteomyelitis, and Radiation Injury.
At our Outpatient Wound Care Clinic, we use mono-place chambers to deliver your HBO treatment. The treatment involves pressurizing the chambers with 100% oxygen aiding the body by initiating a greater amount of oxygen to be transported to the blood cells and plasma. This in turn helps the body fight bacteria, stimulate growth factors and stem cells, therefore, aiding in the body’s process to heal.
Your doctor may suggest the use of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for any one of the following conditions:
Diabetic Foot Ulcers
Chronic Refractory Osteomyelitis
Soft Tissue Radiation Necrosis
Osteoradionecrosis
Compromised Skin Grafts or Flaps
