John L. Baeke, M.D. has joined WoundCentrics and will serve as the Medical Director for the Christus Santa Rosa Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center at the Westover Hills Campus. As a plastic surgeon, he will also provide reconstructive services as well as cosmetic surgery to patients in the San Antonio market.

The Kansas native received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine; completed his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies in Santa Barbara and San Francisco, California.  Dr. Baeke served as a Commander in the U.S. Navy Medical Corp.

Dr. Baeke has had a long and distinguished career as a surgeon in Kansas City and more recently had a successful plastic surgery and wound care practice in the Lompoc/Santa Ynez Valley, California area.

Earlier in Dr. Baeke's career, he developed a medical center burn unit and a wound care center; was an advisor to Johnson & Johnson Wound Care division; was one of the original investigators for the KCI Wound V.A.C.; taught at the university level; lectured on the national stage; published in peer-reviewed journals; received patents for improvements to breast implant design; and testified in Washington, D.C. as an FDA clinical investigator.

Upon his relocation to Texas, Dr. Baeke completed the Wound Care University course.  He was recently credentialed at Christus Santa Rosa Hospitals and is currently accepting patients at the Wound and Hyperbaric Center located at 1121 State Hwy 151, Plaza 2, Suite 300, San Antonio, Texas 78251.
