The historic Roosevelt Warm Springs Hospitals, part of the state of Georgia’s academic health system, August University Health, has signed a management services agreement with WoundCentrics to provide advanced inpatient wound care services to patients in its rehabilitation and specialty hospital.
Founded by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1927 as a polio rehabilitation facility, Roosevelt Warm Springs continues it’s mission to restore function today through it’s two specialized care facilities in Warm Springs, Georgia.
The Roosevelt Long Term Acute Care Hospital provides services to the more medically complex patients, including patients that have developed severe wounds. WoundCentrics will augment the current wound care team with specially trained wound care physicians and mid-level providers who will implement its advanced wound care program, ensuring state-of-the-art wound care for the Warm Springs patients. WoundCentrics will coordinate wound care across the continuum of care in order to provide the same level of wound care services to the rehabilitation hospital patients as well.
“We are excited to be joining the care team of such a prestigious institution. WoundCentrics has a long history of providing evidenced based wound care to long term acute care hospitals and rehabilitation facilities that result in improved patient outcomes,” stated Dr. Marcus Gitterle, WoundCentrics Chief Medical Officer.
“The leadership team at Warm Springs has demonstrated their engagement and commitment to providing the highest quality of care throughout the exploratory stage of this agreement and now we are excited to begin providing our services,” added Stuart Oertli, Chief Operating Officer for WoundCentrics.
